Hi, I'm João! (John!) I hope you're doing well, today!
You might not know this (unless you've been keeping up to date with me on social media), but I've been on vacation for a couple of weeks, which turned into months. Today, I finally feel like I'm back in work-mode after some much needed downtime with my family, and friends to just be with, well ...family!
Although I was out, it was nice to see the businesses continue to run, on it's own on AUTOPILOT. That flexible schedule is what this passive income thing is all about, and while I was out I was able to check in every once in a while to see a mostly positive response to the new website redesign.
There are some kinks to work out (for example, we broke the RSS feed - should be back up and running now) and there are some more updates coming your way to make it even better, but thank you so much to all of you who have commented about it, positively and negatively. My team and I are taking note of all that's being said and we have a few more phases of the redesign left, so stay tuned!
Next up, I have something really important that I could use your help with...
What's Coming Up?
When the book, "Will It Fly," got published it was done via self-publish. When it became a Wall-Street Journal Bestseller, it surprised a lot of people...including me! This was done w/o me buying a majority of the books, to get best seller designation, like some folks do, though some signed ones were given away initially for PR purposes and marketing bonuses.
Why?
Because I and several other people thought you had to go the traditionally published route to be eligible for a bestseller list.
Not true, obviously. I've confirmed that, and it gave a lot of hope to self-published authors on what is really possible for us.
I also wanted to see if it was possible to get a self-published book in a physical book store. And guess what? I was able to confirm that too!
I ordered the book and purchased it at Barnes and Noble, but I had to order it through customer service and wait a couple of days.
Next, I want to see if a self-published book can be put onto the bookshelves, and not just from me physically placing it there on my own...haha!
And this is what my next experiment is all about! In order to make it happen though, I'm going to need your help. Also, there's a funny story about when I actually ordered the book. When they asked me for name, I freaked out and said something different. I used a 'pseudonym' (to publish it). I wasn't sure it was going to work out. ...Haha!
